Mei Henderson

Director

Born in Japan and raised in the United States, her childhood is marked with a blend of both cultures. After graduating high school, she decided to pursue a double degree in biological studies and film making- combining her passion for creativity and her intrigue of science.
After studying abroad at FAMU in the Czech Republic, she joined Gazebo Film as an aspiring director.
She enjoys the craft of storytelling, whether that be commercials, films, or anything in between.
She wrote and directed her first Japanese short film, “Still Water” in the summer of 2024 and had the opportunity to have her work shown at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2025.

Other than directing she often works as an on-set translator, utilizing her bilingual skills and enjoying the communication process.

She is an avid animal lover and can often be found feeding the stray cats in her neighborhood and catching frogs. Besides her love for animals, she enjoys watching films and going on long walks.
